Problems outlined in an audit of the Miller County government are being addressed, according to Presiding Commissioner Tom Wright. The most alarming finding was that the County Collector has not filed annual settlement reports for four years, which according to State Auditor Nicole Galloway, is a violation of state code.
The settlement reports have been an ongoing problem. It’s something that the state auditor has brought up in at least three previous audits.
Wright says he’ll be following up with Collector Bill Harvey to track what progress is being made before the next audit.
