Developer Gary Prewitt says the Osage Beach Board of Aldermen should “slow down” its consideration of the Dierbergs TIF that comes before the board tonight. Prewitt spoke on KRMG’s Morning Magazine.
The 34-million-dollar plan would redevelop the old High Pointe Shopping Center. The TIF Commission last week approved Dierbergs 5.1-million-dollar Tax Increment Financing request.
Prewitt, who is developing Prewitt’s Point and other projects in the Lake area, says the Dierbergs TIF lacks specificity. In a letter to the Board earlier this week, he said it’s “financially unnecessary and legally deficient.”
The Board meets Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Osage Beach City Hall.
