A man charged after an alleged altercation with Lake Ozark Police officers will be back in court in mid-September. The attorney for Gary Prewitt waived his client’s arraignment in a Miller County court this week. Prewitt is accused of engaging in a scuffle with officers that included him throwing a punch that struck one of the officers in the head. The alleged incident occurred following a traffic stop for speeding during which Prewitt was a passenger in the vehicle. He’s charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault, including one with a special victim specification. He was also charged for a seatbelt violation. A case review has been scheduled for September 19th.
