An Osage Beach man has been sentenced to prison for scamming 3 different homeowners in the Joplin area following the EF5 Tornado that touched down in May of 2011. According to reports, Jeffrey Wolfson operated a company called Insurexx based in the Lebanon area offering insurance claim adjustments and home repair services without obtaining any licenses to do so. Wolfson apparently accepted insurance proceeds and checks from residents of Joplin but never completed any home repairs nor returned the money. On Tuesday a jury found him guilty of two counts of felony stealing, two misdemeanor counts of public adjust without a licenses and three felony counts of unlawful merchandising practice and was sentenced to 13 years in prison on each of the two felony counts, seven years on the three felony counts and one year on the two misdemeanors. Wolfson was not alone in the scamming, his partner Gloria Schoeller pleaded guilty in 2013 and was forced to pay full restitution to the homeowners and received four years of probation.
