The Missouri Public Service Commission now begins the task of figuring out the best practices for utility companies to collect past-due customer payments after the COVID-19 crisis.
Most utilities suspended disconnection efforts in response to economic disruptions experienced by many who lost employment income as a result of the pandemic.
The PSC has ordered staff to conduct an investigation into how the situation should be handled with a report to be filed with the commission no later than August 3rd.
The public is also welcome to submit written or online comments to the PSC.
