The Osage Beach Fire Protection District held a public meeting Monday night (29) regarding fire safety, code regulations and recommendations from a special committee. The meeting comes nearly seven months after a fire at Compass Pointe condominiums killed four children. Osage Beach Fire Chief Jeff Dorhauer says there are three different categories of recommendations from the committee.
The issue that drew the largest amount of discussion was the proposal to restrict propane grills to one pound fuel bottles. The goal of the proposed changes is to protect residents and reduce fire risk. The proposed rule changes would apply to all 4300 condo units in the fire district.
