A public meeting scheduled for Thursday will give people a chance to ask questions about a controversial proposal for a prescription drug monitoring program. Health Department officials, hospital reps, law enforcement, and more are expected to be on hand to address concerns over the proposed plan to link prescription information to a data base in St. Louis County. Proponents of the plan say it will help identify doctor shopping and slow the opioid crisis. Opponents worry that the plan is too invasive and puts personal privacy at risk. Thursday’s meeting is scheduled for 6pm in the Camden County Courthouse.
