If the Ameren Missouri Company gets its way, electric consumers will soon be digging deeper into their pockets for service. The Missouri Public Service Commission has set the dates for early next year to hold several formal evidentiary hearings on the possible rate increases. The hearings will take place in the Governor Office Building in Jefferson City on February 27th-28th, March 1st-3rd, March 6th-10th and March 13th-14th. Ameren filed for the electric rate case back on July 1st seeking to increase annual electric revenues by about $206.4 million. That would translate, according to the filing, an average increase of $99 more per year for residential customers. The PSC will also be holding local public hearings in the rate case. That schedule has not yet been announced.
