Sheriff J.B. King’s calling it quits at the end of next year. King, a Republican, is not going to run for re-election. He was elected Sheriff in 2004, and made the run after several years in retirement from his previous job as a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. King says he’s aware of 4 people who plan on running for Sheriff. One has declared his candidacy, and that’s Johnny Burgess, a Waynesville paramedic.
