The sex abuse trial of the former owner of Dairy Queen in Camdenton will, once again, proceed. Dennis Purdy is charged with Forcible Sodomy, Statutory Sodomy and Sexual Abuse in connection to an incident that allegedly happened with one of his employees at the time in 2013. Purdy had entered an Alford Plea earlier in the case but a mistrial was declared because of inconsistencies in his statements. Purdy waived formal reading of the complaint against him when appeared in court Wednesday with his attorney in front of Senior Judge Donald Barnes. A Not Guilty plea was entered and the case was ordered to be set for a jury trial. If found guilty of the charges, as now filed, Purdy could face from two years to life in prison.
