A Camdenton man arrested by the Highway Patrol faces multiple charges, including assault on law enforcement. 46-year old Thomas Batterton is also charged with a felony for DWI-drugs persistent offender, felony driving while revoked, resisting arrest, refusing to obey a law enforcement officer, and four other motor vehicle violations. He was placed on a 24-hour hold following his arrest in Camden County. He was arrested after a vehicle pursuit and foot chase in Camden County. Sergeant Scott White, from the highway patrol, tells KRMS News that the sequence of events started just before 2:25 Tuesday afternoon. Sergeant White says a trooper advised she was in pursuit of a vehicle that was failing to yield when the driver left the roadway cutting across a field before getting out and then taking off on foot. Deputies from Camden County arrived on the scene and assisted the trooper in taking the subject into custody a short time later in the area of Eden Drive and Jupiter Road off of Twin Rivers Point a short distance south of north highway-7.
