We’ve told you about a series of meetings to help update emergency plans in case of disasters in the area. That’s something that’s been on the mind of Lake Ozark Mayor Gerry Murawski after strong storms over the past couple weeks. He’s been attending those meetings to update the Hazard Mitigation Plans and he says he sees at least one glaring area of need.
The Mayor says he hopes the mitigation meetings will lead to a plan that can be implemented within the next year. The city itself is not entirely without shelter, though.
Heritage Elementary can also serve as a storm shelter. The Council of Local Governments is currently updating the Camden County plan. Their next meeting is scheduled for June 5th.
