While the American Red Cross is normally right there to help in times of tragedy and disaster, the shoe is now on the other foot with the Red Cross asking the public to help. Blood supplies are at a critical low and, according to Dave Griffith, Executive Director for the Central and Northern Missouri Chapter, there is an urgent need for all types of blood donations with just one unit potentially saving three different lives.
Lake Area residents have four chances coming up in the near future to donate blood including this week on Thursday from 10-2 at Purcell Tire and ServiceCenter in Osage Beach. Other scheduled blood drives in the area include: August 19th from 2-6 at Eagles Landing-8 Cinema in Lake Ozark, August 29th from 10-2 at Lowe’s in Osage Beach and on September 20th from 10-3 at Culver’s in Osage Beach.
