A man arrested for burglary in Camden County was held at gunpoint until authorities could arrive. That’s according to a probable cause statement filed in the case against Edward Joseph Williams of Camdenton. According to the report, residents at the home were awakened by a dog barking and discovered a man sitting on the porch steps. Williams then allegedly made his way into the garage despite warnings from the resident to get out. When the sheriff’s office was called, they were told someone was in the garage. Ten minutes later they were told the man had been shot. The homeowners fired at least one shot with a shotgun and told Williams to remain laying down until the police arrived. Williams was taken to the hospital for treatment and charged with first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.
