Residents Upset Over Mask Rules At Camdenton Schools

A number of residents are upset over what they believe is an overreach of mask rules in Camdenton Schools.

Right now, the school board’s “Mask on the Move” policy remains the only rule in place voted on by the board itself.

However, in a letter sent home in November, the school indicated that due to the Governor’s changes on quarantining guidelines, mask wearing has become a priority for all students.

It also indicates that some students may be sent home if they do not comply.

On Facebook, resident Siwel Ynaffit indicated their child in kindergarten at Osage Beach Elementary was told to wear the mask at all times because “Something Changed,” despite the board’s policy being only when it’s “on the move” or when social distancing is not possible.

Another resident on Facebook, Tom Sechler, indicated that Superintendent Dr. Tim Hatfield needs to “address this issue immediately,” so that the community can have clarity on what is going on.
