Osage Beach has approved a rezoning request to allow for construction of commercial lodging off of Sunset Drive. Lakeshore Holdings & Development requested that the 14-acre plot be changed from “agricultural” to “commercial lodging.” They plan to construct approximately eight houses that will be available for nightly rentals. Andy Prewitt tells KRMS they want to provide patrons of Backwater Jack’s with options to keep them off the roads after they’ve consumed alcohol. Each unit will cost $250-$300,000 to build, in addition to the site prep.
As for the project’s timeline, Prewitt said some of the units could be available next season.
