Lake area native and NASA Astronaut Michael Hopkins is taking another spacewalk today.
Hopkins and astronaut Victor Glover completed their first spacewalk outside of the International Space Station this past Wednesday.
It was the third spacewalk for Hopkins, including his first in 2013 and another in 2014.
The team managed to make several upgrades during the Wednesday walk, including installing a new antenna to enable high-bandwidth communications for Europe and a long-term battery upgrade.
Hopkins, originally from Richland Missouri, is a graduate of School of the Osage.
