A man from Roach taken into custody this week on a warrant out of Volusia County, Florida, has now been charged in Camden County with being a fugitive from out of state. 57-year-old Wesley Cheek had been wanted on the Florida warrant for failing to appear in court and going on the run after being charged there for carrying a concealed weapon. Cheek was picked up by the Highway Patrol Tuesday afternoon and taken to the Camden County Jail. A waiver of extradition was filed in the fugitive case against Cheek clearing the way for Florida authorities to pick him up. Bond, in the meantime, is denied until that happens.
