Osage beach aldermen have approved a new plan to redesign the roads around the high pointe shopping center. The phase ii amended project will take the direction to connect zebra road with redbud road with future plans to dead-end links road at the proposed dierberg’s market. The engineering department cited the benefits of connecting zebra and red bud for flow of traffic while not restricting the ability of high pointe expanding in the future. The city engineer also pointed out an apparent safety improvement in school bus routes through the three roads. The approved plan will remove the right in/right out intersection at Osage beach parkway and red bud road. This project option is estimated at $19,000 more than originally budgeted due to the necessary relocation of two utility poles. Right-of-way requests and agreements are currently an unknown variable.
