Hollyhock and Leonard North Street will be connected with a 53-foot two lane gravel road after approval last night by the Camdenton board of aldermen.
School bus access for a disabled sixth grader was the motivating factor for the move, with plans to connect the road being met with some protest at the meeting two weeks ago.
Mayor Dennis North says the gravel is the best option.
Over $500 of base rock will be put on the connector, which could be covered with asphalt if the council decides to pave it in the future. The vote last night was four to zero with alderman Dan Hagedorn and Steve Eden absent.
