The Missouri Farm Bureau is hosting an information discussion about the Rock Island Trail on Thursday in Stover for area residents. The MOFB expects to have staff from Ameren, The DNR along with special guest Arent Fox and Farm Bureau agents on hand to discuss the proposed rails to trails from Windsor to Beaufort that recently received approval from the U.S. Surface Transportation board. The rail line has been inactive since the 1980s and part of the line between Windsor and a Kansas City suburb of Pleasant Hill are already being converted into the trail that connects to the Katy trail and takes it to Kansas City. This section would effect communities around the lake as it strolls through Cole Camp, Stover, Versailles, Eldon, Meta and Belle on its way to St. Louis. The meeting takes place at 7pm at the Stover Community center at 600 Legion drive and is open to the public.
