The Rocky Mount Fire District joins some pretty unwelcome company. With still two major holidays to come before year’s end, the district finds itself joining other fire districts around the lake area in reporting an increased call-load for the year. That’s according to Chief Kevin Hurtibise who says the district is about 70 calls ahead compared to the same time last year. In the case of the Rocky Mount district, that’s an increase of about 16-percent. Chief Hurtibise credits medical calls for making up most of the increase.
