A 52-year-old from Rocky Mount faces several charges after what began as a routine traffic stop by the Highway Patrol in Camden County. The probable cause statement indicates that the license plates did not match the vehicle, leading to the stop during which a marijuana pipe was discovered along with a pill bottle which, allegedly, contained two Alprazolam pills. Allen Holtzclaw claimed he had bought the pills from a friend to help deal with anxiety. Holtzclaw was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving-related offenses.
