A Rolla man who admitted to killing two people and attempting to injure or kill two others at the River View RV Park and Campground will be sentenced for his crimes later this year. When that takes place, Miller County Prosecutor Ben Winfrey says it’s completely in the hands of the judge. Gary Sweet last week entered a limited negotiated plea deal. As part of that arrangement, Winfrey says his office made no recommendation or agreement on any terms of the sentencing. Sweet entered guilty pleas to two counts of second-degree murder, which carry possible sentences of 10-30 years up to life behind bars. He also plead guilty to charges of first-degree and second-degree assault, which carry possible sentences of up to 15 and 7 years, respectively. Sweet will be sentenced June 12th.
