The city approved three resolutions on Tuesday that facilitate payment for portions of the $12.6 million dollar highway project.
Jeff Sigin with McClure Engineering explains.
“They were approvals of pay estimates for work that has been completed on both the environmental study as well as the relocation of utilities that are required prior to the construction of Route 242, so it was a pay request item.”
One resolution dealt with utility relocates, one followed the environmental review process payment through the Community Development Block Grant, the third authorized a fund transfer from the CDBG to the Missouri Highways and Transportation commission.
The highway will be paid for with a combination of Missouri Department of Economic Development funds, the CDBG money, MoDOT funds, and a federal earmark from Senator Kit Bond.
