The Missouri Department of Transportation continues to keep the old Route 66 bridge over the Gasconade river closed since it had been found to have structural issues by inspectors late last year. Area Engineer Bob Lynch says they just finished a deeper inspection to the bridge this week
Lynch says MODOT will have to make and consider several decisions including costs to repair the old bridge. Several area groups have been advocating it’s restoration as a historical part of the Route 66 heritage.
