Constitutional Amendment-6 may seem like a no-brainer to most but it still appears on the statewide ballot next week needing voter approval. If approved, it would require anyone voting in Missouri to verify identity before casting a ballot. Camden County Clerk Rowland Todd says the issue has been ongoing for a long time and not likely to be settled anytime soon.
Valid ID’s to verify identity would include such items as a drivers license, a utility bill in the voter’s name, a tax bill or school ID just to name a few. The amendment also has a provision calling for the state to issue ID’s if someone really cannot afford one on their own.
