A business is only as good as its employees and how good the employees are usually depends on their level of training. That holds especially true for emergency responders, where training for emergency situations is vital. The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District sent four firefighters to six weeks of intense training and, as of Friday, they are officially full time firefighters for the district. Chief Dennis Reilly says they have had issues keeping the station on Spruce Lane open when someone had the day off, making response times to that area nearly fifteen minutes longer. He says that issue should be resolved with the hiring of these new employees.
