The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection district may soon have a second station that is staffed full time. The district’s board of trustees recently authorized Fire Chief Dennis Reilly to investigate the cost estimates to fully implement phase one of a full time staffing plan for fire station number three, located on route “MM’ at spruce road. According to reports, the station has the third busiest response in the district and takes the most time to get there; averaging 13 minutes. Chief Reilly’s goal is to put firefighters on the scene of a fire anywhere in the district within four minutes.
