The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released the results of its 2013 school bus inspections. Almost 12,000 buses were inspected between February and April. A total of 256 districts earned the distinction of Total Fleet Excellence, which is awarded for an approval rating of 90 percent or higher with no buses placed out-of-service. In the Lake area, the Camdenton R-III, Morgan County R-II , Macks Creek R-V, and School of the Osage districts earned that distinction, receiving a 100 percent approval rate for all of their buses. 25 percent of the 30 buses in the Eldon R-I school district failed initial inspection, and three were taken out of service. Four of the Climax Springs R-IV district’s 12 buses did not pass. Statewide, 88 percent of all buses inspected passed. 239 buses were deemed unsafe and taken out-of-service.
