The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting some disturbing information about how safe our children are in area school buses. According to a report, school bus inspections where conducted February the 3rd through March the 20th and of the buses inspected, nearly 3.4% had already been placed out of service to do issues that could jeopardize student safety. Also an additional 12% had issues that could eventual result in being placed out of service if repairs are not made soon. Those results are higher than the last 3 years that the Highway Patrol did these inspections. According to the report, fewer than 85% of the 12,000 buses inspected where initially approved which is the lowest number since 2010.
