Administrators locked down the Joel E. Barber School yesterday after they received a threatening voicemail. The Laclede County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Tina Nolan, superintendent of the Barber C-5 School District, after receiving a phone call from an angry man, identified as a 38-year-old man from Lebanon, a parent of a student, who was allegedly yelling, cussing and threatening to either come to the school or school employees’ homes to “take care of” a problem.
