Law enforcement and school authorities say they’ve found no evidence to support claims of a threat within the Morgan R-2 school district. The Morgan County Sheriff’s office says they were made aware of a Facebook post alleging that a high school student had threatened to “shoot up the school.” So far they say they’ve found no confirmed credible threat. A statement released by Superintendent Dr. Joyce Ryerson says the administration questioned all students involved and determined that the claims of a threat were false. Ryerson calls it a false rumor that was spread by students and shared online. The Sheriff’s office says they’ll continue to work with the Versailles Police on the investigation and will provide any new information should it become available.
