In the wake of the Newtown school shooting, Lake area school districts are making changes to keep their students and staff safe. Climax Springs R-IV Superintendent Michael Diekmann says cameras inside their school building will soon be connected to the Camden County Sheriff’s Department. Diekmann says they have also reecently had an active shooter training drill for law enforcement in their building. The district also conducts monthly school lock down drills with teachers
Starting on Monday in Versailles, the Elementary and Middle Schools will implement new drop-off and pick-up procedures.
The Camdenton R-III school district is also in the process of installing buzzer systems, intercoms and video surveillance in all of their school buildings.
