A second suspect is facing burglary and other charges thanks to DNA evidence recovered after a 2016 break-in in Camden County. The burglary occurred on Paw Ridge Road in September of 2016. Yesterday we told you that Bobbie Ann Mason was charged in the case thanks to DNA recovered from a blood sample found on a light switch. Now Steven Wayne Smith has also been charged with second-degree burglary, property damage, and theft. Authorities say his DNA was found a cigarette butt located outside the home beneath a broken window that was used as the point of entry. According to a probable cause statement, Smith is a suspect in a string of burglaries and is currently incarcerated for similar crimes.
