A 20-year-old from Camdenton is seriously hurt early Saturday night when the 2014 Polaris utility vehicle he was operating ran off the roadway and overturned. The highway patrol says Ryan Smythe was westbound on Twin Rivers Point, west of Marina Road in Camden County, when it happened. Smythe was not wearing a safety device and suffered serious injuries. Smythe also faces several pending charges in connection to the incident including felony DWI-physical injury, unlawfully operating a utility vehicle on the highway, felony assault special victim and activating warning lights on an emergency vehicle when not warranted. He was released and flown to a Springfield hospital for treatment.
