Several fires broke out on Monday due to high winds. Firefighters battled a massive blaze that ate 75 acres in the Greenview area, but that wasn’t all. Firefighters battled a natural cover fire on State route AA near Roach. According to a release, one acre there was on fire and crews with the Mid-County Fire Protection District had it under control within 45 minutes. Additionally Mid-County assisted Camdenton in a fire that occurred on Wilkerson Street in Camdenton. The fire involved a structure that started a brush fire which eventually was put out. Finally, firefighters from Osage Beach Fire fought a natural cover fire on Highway 42 which burned 150 acres near the State Park on Cassidy road. The smoke filled the air all the way to the Prewitt’s Point shopping center.
