Starting about 4:45, Mid-County was called to a natural cover fire on Brush Arbor Road. While that fire was being contained a second natural cover fire on High Point Road was called in. That was followed by a residential structure fire on Lamplighter Drive near the Niangua Bridge at 7:15. Then a natural cover fire was called in minutes later on Ganter Road in Montreal. An illegal burn on Camden Line Road in Montreal followed with Mid-County coming back into service about 11 o’clock Thursday night.
About 11:40 a natural cover fire was called in on Mount Horeb Road, which was follwed by the re-ignition of the Lamplighter Drive fire which started earlier in the evening. Crews were on scene until about 4 o’clock Friday morning.
There is no official word from the fire district yet on whther or not they suspect the natural cover fires were intentionally set.
