A 12-day old baby is used to hide merchandise as three teenagers allegedly shoplift from an Osage Beach store. Osage Beach Police say on Sunday night, they were called to Wal-Mart for shoplifting in progress. The three suspects were using the baby, who was in a car seat, to hide some of the stolen property. 19-year old Tara Lewis and 17-year old Dustin Metcalf, both of Laurie, and 17-year old Genevieve Hill-Deasure of Camdenton were all taken into custody. They are charged with stealing by shoplifting under 500 dollars. The proper authorities have been contacted and the three teenagers could also be facing endangering the welfare of a child charges. Police say they have arrested shoplifters before that have babies with them but they use the baby bag to hide merchandise and not the baby itself.
