The annual spring shoreline clean-up at Lake of the Ozarks is right around the corner. The effort started as an idea 26 years ago and has blossomed into a major endeavor which has removed some five-million pounds of trash and debris from the lake over the years. In preparation for this year’s effort, Ameren recently hosted a volunteer dinner night with several individuals recognized for their involvement in the program. They include: Greg Fell from Zone-11, LaNell Hager from Zone-6, Greg Massey from Zone-5 and Paul Schaefer along with his students at the Horizons Lake Education Center which represents Zone-10. Fred Costa, Zone-3 participant since 1999, was also recognized as the volunteer of the year. This year’s spring shoreline clean-up is scheduled to run the 19th through the 24th of this month.
