The 24th Annual Lake Area spring shoreline cleanup is underway. organizers are anticipating several hundred volunteers again this year to participate in the event that runs thru April 13th. Efforts to cleanup the shoreline began in the early 1990’s with nine civic clubs adopting nearly 90 miles of shoreline. Today more than 90 businesses, organizations and property owners take part in the project and more volunteers are still needed. Over the past 24 years more than 5 million pounds of trash and debris have been disposed of thru the cleanup effort.
