The Show Me Strong Recovery Plan is in full force around Missouri, and the jobs are there to prove it.
Governor Mike Parson made the announcement during his Thursday press briefing in the state capital.
He says over May and June Missouri recovered about one-third of the jobs lost in March and April.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development shows over 71-thousand jobs added to the state’s economy in June.
Missouri’s unemployment rate decreased by just over 2-percent last month, going from 10.1-percent in May to 7.9 percent in June.
The national unemployment rate last month was just over 11-percent.
The unemployment rate in Missouri has been below or equal to the national rate for 64 consecutive months, or just over 5 years.
