Tammy Dickinson, United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, announced Monday that a Camden County man was sentenced in federal court for the forced sex trafficking of two women. 36-year-old Joshua Kain Smith was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison without parole. The court also ordered Smith to serve a lifetime of supervised release following incarceration, and ordered him to pay $23,406 in restitution to one of his victims. In August 2014, Smith pled guilty to one count of sex trafficking and one count of attempted sex trafficking. Smith admitted that he used force, threats of force, fraud and coercion to cause a person to engage in prostitution, from which he benefitted financially, between November 2011, and March 2012.
