As snow started to fall on Saturday afternoon, roads quickly became a skating rink of accidents and issues. A report of HH being closed for 30 minutes due to an accident was the first to coming in followed by several slide offs across the Lake as crews from City, County and State tried to tackle the wet dry snow mix that had fallen from the sky. While most accidents in the Lake area were not bad, unfortunately elsewhere in Missouri drivers were not as lucky. Interstate 44 near Rolla was shut down for more than 18 hours after a tractor trailer crashed into a Greyhound bus causing a chain reaction that involved several cars, trucks and other vehicles and sent 11 people to the hospital. Road crews will continue to try and clear the roads through the overnight hours and through the day on Sunday but more precipitation is expected and roads could remain difficult to navigate for several hours.
