Work to replace the Route 5 bridge over Soap Creek will begin the week of October 3rd, weather permitting, following the Apple Festival in Versailles. MoDOT, making that announcement today, estimating the work will take approximately 50 days to complete. The entire bridge will be replaced and will be completely closed during construction. Traffic will be detoured around the work area using Routes 135 and J. MoDOT advises tractor-trailers and other large commercial vehicles should consider using other routes to get around the construction area, such as U.S. 54 or U.S. 65, beginning the first week of October.
Barnett Bridge on Route A in Camden County has been closed to traffic starting today for replacement. The bridge is located one mile east of Route E and is expected to remain closed until mid-October. Motorists are being detoured on Routes 7 and E.
