When Missouri voters head out for the November General Election, one of the issues to be decided will be Constitutional Amendment-1. If passed, the state’s one-tenth of one- percent sales and use tax to be used for soil and water conservation, and for state parks and historic sites would continue for, at least, another 10 years. However, Ike Skelton says passage of the issue could be a $90-million mistake.
Skelton goes onto say he would be more inclined to favor passage of the issue if more local control was involved as to where the funding would be allocated. The issue will be decided at the ballot boxes on November 8th.
