Cole, Osage and regional west fire protection districts are recipients of matching grants from the Missouri department of conservation forestry division.
Each district has received three thousand dollars to help with the purchase of equipment to upgrade the emergency radio systems that serve the fire protection districts, along with the county ambulance service and first responders. The grants are a direct result in a new federal requirement forcing emergency service agencies to upgrade their two-way radio transmissions by 2013.
