A levy for the Southwest Fire Protection District is officially on the ballot for election in August. The district is seeking a 25-cent levy increase. They’ve not had a levy increase since the district was formed nearly 20 years ago. They plan to use the additional funds to implement a 10-year plan that will include placement of additional water access points throughout the district. The Southwest Camden County FPD serves 900 homes and businesses and approximately 3300 residents in 152 square miles. You can learn more about their plans by visiting www.swfpd.net/tax. You can also call or visit station 1 on State Road in Macks Creek. Election day is Tuesday, August 6th.
