A special meeting of the Morgan County R-2 Board of Education will be held on Friday (5). Board members will be reviewing candidate letters of interest. A seat on the Board became vacant last month after Trooper Anthony Piercy with the Missouri Highway Patrol’s Water Patrol Division resigned from the Board. Piercy was arrested in December on charges of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of 20 year old Brandon Ellingson who drowned at the Lake in May of 2014 while in the custody of the Water Patrol. Friday’s special board meeting begins at 5pm at the Middle School Library in Versailles and is open to the public.
