The Missouri House delegation split six to three on the debt ceiling vote last night but not along party lines. Overall the bill passed 269 to 161. Looking at the Missouri congressmen’s votes, Democrats William Clay and Russ Carnahan voted in favor, as did Republicans Samuel Graves, Billy Long, Jo Ann Emerson, and Blaine Luetkemeyer. Voting no were Republicans Vicky Hartzler and Todd Akin, along with Democrat Emmanuel Cleaver. The U.S. Senate is expected to take up the debt bill today.
